Not too long ago, the remaster of The Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos was announced, and now Argonaut Games has revealed its release date.

This time, it’s personal! Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos is the sequel to the multi-million-selling classic Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. The night before Croc’s next adventure begins, Professor Gobbo witnesses the Dantinis resurrect Baron Dante and is taken prisoner. Back on the beach in Gobbo Valley, Croc plays in the sand and spots a bottle washed ashore. Inside is a message revealing that his birth parents are searching for him. He sets off for the mainland to find them. However, the journey soon turns into a showdown when Baron Dante vows revenge against the humble crocodile who once defeated him.

Roam free across the mainland and explore four distinct villages, each with a unique Gobbo culture: the coastal Sailor Village, the wintry Cossack Village, the prehistoric Caveman Village, and the mountaintop Inca Village. Rescue the captured Gobbos, complete various challenging quests, and spend your crystals at Swap Meet Pete’s shop, where the entrepreneurial cat sells useful gadgets and can teleport you between villages with his Crystal Ball. Face brand-new Guardians as well, including Soveena the octopus, whose obsession with Ginger Soda threatens Sailor Village; Cannon Boat Keith, the pirate captain with a crew of skeletons; and Flavio the fish, who spits boiling water at anyone standing in his way.

Croc’s signature moves return, but jumping and tail-spinning are only the beginning. The new triple jump gives Croc extra height when he needs it most. Race cars and speedboats, hurtle along in mine carts, catch some air with a hang glider, and soar into the skies in an airplane throughout an open-ended 3D platforming adventure spanning more than 40 levels. Return to a beautifully refreshed world filled with vibrant environments, engaging characters, and inventive puzzles for players of all ages. The Croc 2 remaster combines traditional platforming action with modern enhancements, preserving the feel of the original while introducing its timeless charm to another generation.

Argonaut Games has once again tracked down and assembled a digital museum filled with long-lost development materials, including the complete game design documentation, marketing materials, promotional products, animation test videos, and galleries of 3D models for characters, levels, and items cut from the final game. It also features interviews with original Argonaut team members, the remaster developers, producers, and other contributors. Croc2pedia provides a behind-the-scenes look at a beloved classic and walks us through how the second chapter of Croc’s epic story came together during development.

The Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster will be released on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Only Nintendo Switch 2 has been left out.
