The PlayStation 5 Pro is rumored to be capable of even higher frame rates than before, while adding another game to its list of opening titles.

In the latest episode of the Moore’s Law Is Dead Broken Silicon podcast, host Tom confirmed that he’s seen footage of an unidentified game from an unnamed developer. It used dynamic resolution on the PlayStation 5 (around 1440p) and ranged from 1300p to 1600p with an average frame rate of 50 FPS. However, when the frame rate limit was removed, it jumped to over 100 FPS, and all without PlayStation 5 Pro optimization!

With optimization and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling, the developer thought that a resolution between 1440p-1600p could work while running at 120 FPS, which is pretty impressive for a console. The developer is trying to run his game at 4K resolution at 60 FPS and is pretty sure it will be possible on the soon-to-be-released console.

Among the PlayStation 5 Pro launch titles is Microids’ Unreal Engine 5 real-time strategy game Empire of the Ants, which the French publisher has announced will run at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 Pro, so Tower Five’s game won’t be slow. The game is based on Bernard Werber’s 1991 sci-fi novel. The base game will cost 40 euros, while the Digital Deluxe will cost 50 euros, with the latter allowing you to start the game three days earlier and including a digital art book, some wallpapers and the soundtrack. The PC system requirements are as follows
