*The Day Before* has been one of the most criticized video games in recent times. After raising expectations for an action-survival MMO in an infected open world, the Fntastic team disappointed players with a game plagued by bugs and, to make matters worse, it wasn’t even a true massively multiplayer title. After the chaotic release, the studio went dark, leading to refunds and thousands of user complaints. Now, months later, Fntastic is re-emerging… and asking for money to develop their next project.

“Everyone deserves a second chance.” That’s the phrase Fntastic used to announce their reactivation as a video game developer in a post on X. “We apologize for *The Day Before* and take full responsibility for what happened. Check out our plan, Fntastic 2.0, where we share how we plan to fix our mistakes and make a better comeback.”

Fntastic’s so-called “recovery plan” outlines their new philosophy in game development and community interaction. It centers on key principles like honesty, transparency, and professionalism.

Fntastic’s new project, *Escape Factory*, is a multiplayer co-op escape game for 4-8 players set in dangerous factories. The team is seeking €13,937 via Kickstarter. So far, only 18 backers have pledged €405.

Unsurprisingly, the gaming community has reacted negatively to Fntastic’s return, especially considering they’re asking for money once again. Many see this as just another scam similar to their failed MMO.
