Remedy Entertainment will also be releasing an anniversary update for Alan Wake II that will support Sony’s half-generation console update.<\/h4>\n

Let’s start with the PlayStation 5 Pro support. The quality-focused Quality Mode will support ray tracing, which is not available on the base PlayStation 5. When enabled, you’ll get a 30fps frame rate. Reflections (opaque and transparent) will also have ray tracing. It will run at 4K resolution (3840×2160), but the native resolution will be lower (2176×1224). In performance mode, image quality, fog, volumetric lighting and shadow accuracy will be better on the PlayStation 5. You’ll get 60 FPS with pretty much the same settings as the PlayStation 5’s base Quality mode, but at a higher resolution. It’ll run at 3840×2160 (4K; 1440p on the base PlayStation 5), but 1536×864 is the native resolution (lower on the base PS5). Both modes use the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaler. To celebrate the one year anniversary of the game, an Anniversary Update will be released later today (October 22nd). It will be a free update. You can rotate both the horizontal (X) axis on the mouse and controller, not just the vertical (Y). The DualSense controller will also provide motion-based (gyroscopic) aiming, you can adjust the sensitivity on both axes, the gyro field, and choose whether your pitch, yaw, and roll directions are standard or inverted. Haptic feedback will now be active not only on weapons, but also on throwables and healing items.<\/p>\n

Gameplay is made easier. In the Gameplay Assist menu, we can set up quick turns, auto-complete QTEs, change button presses to single button presses, reload weapons, use healing items, and lightshift with taps. We can become invulnerable and immortal, kill everyone with one shot, and have unlimited ammo and flashlights. These can be turned on and off individually!<\/p>\n

So the update is coming today for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, while PlayStation 5 Pro support will have to wait until its release on November 7th.<\/p>\n
