The new Dragon Age game is available to play today, and Wilson spoke during the publisher’s quarterly earnings call about how confident he is in the potential of Dragon Age: The Veilguard: “It’s an amazing time at Electronic Arts, and in two days we will launch Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It’s been ten years since we released its predecessor, Game of the Year winner Dragon Age: Inquisition. While I think it’s too early to predict the outcome, the critical response has been incredibly strong. The team feels really energized by what they have delivered, and my sense is that yes, it has breakout capabilities,” Wilson said.

Recently, executive producer Mark Darrah said that Dragon Age: Inquisition has sold 12 million copies, making it BioWare’s best-selling title. The publisher is confident that Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which launches today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, will surpass that, thanks to pre-orders and a positive reception. If there are DLCs to come, that might be possible. In the case of Dragon Age: Inquisition, the Trespasser DLC was great.

So the publisher is not pessimistic at all…
