Insomniac Games is now working almost exclusively on its next game, but that hasn’t stopped the Sony-owned studio from releasing a new update for Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

Even though it’s been over a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on PlayStation 5 (it was released on PS5 on October 20, 2023; the PC port will have to wait until January 30, 2025, and Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software will reveal more details about what’s new in the PC port later this year…), the game has received another major update that was relatively well received before its release, but then lost interest almost immediately.

Of course, Marvel fans liked what they saw, and the brand will slowly reappear in more and more places (besides Marvel’s Wolverine, Arkane Lyon is working on Marvel’s Blade, EA Motive is working on Marvel’s Iron Man, but you could also include Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra from Skydance), so there could be a slight saturation of superhero titles. Maybe that’s why Insomniac Games is getting in on the action. The studio took to Twitter to announce that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has also received PlayStation 5 Pro support (as has the studio’s other recently released game, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart).

Today, we deployed updates for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that add new visual options for PlayStation 5 Pro, including Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro modes!
