So, in terms of ease of assembly, the PlayStation 5 Pro has been able to make a step up from the PlayStation 5 without much of that in the other consoles. Recently, the image below has been making the rounds of the yet-to-be-released console, and it reveals a small slot that gives you quick access to the CMOS battery, which can then be swapped out for another button battery in no time. Why is this battery important?

It is an important, but fortunately cheap, component in consoles that powers the CMOS chip. This chip stores important hardware information and it is necessary to keep it in good condition for the system to work properly. Remember that the CMOS battery caused some uncomfortable moments on the PlayStation 4 before Sony fixed the problem with the console when the battery was missing (or when it was dead).

The PlayStation 5 Pro is already on some store shelves, and it’s not that far away. This week, the press and influencers have been getting their hands on the half-generation update, and while the embargo is still in place, many have been “testing” the console’s box for fun (including a Japanese publication, 4Gamer). Developers are also releasing patches for more and more games to support the PlayStation 5 Pro (we covered a number of them recently).

The PlayStation 5 Pro isn’t far off, as it will be available for purchase on November 7th. It’ll cost $700 in North America and €800 in Europe. If you want to use the console upright or even use your existing discs, you’ll have to pay a premium, as it doesn’t come with a vertical stand or a Blu-ray drive.
