Ubisoft has begun to reveal more about the new Assassin’s Creed episode, which was originally scheduled for release in November.

The extra three months will be used to get the developers up to speed on the quality of the game (interspersed with a Christmas break), as Star Wars: Outlaws, the French publisher’s previous game, didn’t perform as well as Yves Guillemot’s company would have liked. That’s why Guillemot said that the new Assassin’s Creed will focus on the highest possible quality of gameplay, which will include a lot of stealth.

The stealth overview will focus mainly on Naoé. One of the main features of stealth is surveillance, which Naoe and Yasuke can use. This can be used to identify targets and to tag and track enemies. Although this was present in previous Assassin’s Creeds, it wasn’t as elaborate as it is here. Simon Lemay-Comtois, the game’s assistant director, says that when in doubt, you should pause, explore the world around you, and then decide what to do next.

Naoe doesn’t just have to focus on movement and stealth, because she has four tools to get out of trouble or to safely finish off her targets. Smoke Bombs, Shinobi Bells, and Kunai and Shuriken can be used in tighter situations. The bells make a noise and can be thrown away so that the enemy focuses on the bells instead of us. The kunai can finish them off with a single strike if you aim accurately. The shuriken can stun our opponents, and when thrown into the environment, the throwing star distracts our opponents. And the smoke bomb is self-explanatory…

Yasuke will also have some options to avoid getting into fights. According to Lemay-Comtois, Naoe is the smallest Assassin in the franchise’s history, and she can use that to her advantage, sneaking through thin cracks in walls and hiding in small spaces to surprise her opponents.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on February 14th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, iOS and iPad.
