MOVIE NEWS – Very few information was given regarding the long-awaited Zombieland 2 of Sony Pictures over the past seven years, but the real fans have been waiting for a follow-up ever since the original Zombieland turn out to be a box office hit in 2009. Earlier this month, Sony Pictures showed the sequel’s logo during their CinemaCon appearance, suggesting that the sequel will still happen. Now we have word that the actual filming may begin soon. While this hasn’t been confirmed by Sony quite yet, a new report suggests that Zombieland 2 will start shooting in Atlanta August 2016.

The story from On Location Vacations only suggests that the actual filming may start in mid-August in Atlanta: the city where the original Zombieland was primarily shot, except for a few scenes in Los Angeles. While there are no cast members have been confirmed, it is thought that the four original stars, Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Emma Stone (Wichita) Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock) will be back to reinterpret their roles. It still isn’t known how many new characters will be brought in for the zombie sequel at this time.

It was already reported way back in 2014 by Movieweb, that Ruben Fleischer the original Zombieland director will return to direct Zombieland 2, working from a script by Dave Callaham (Godzilla). Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote a script draft back in 2010, and the authors revealed in a February interview that they are still on board as executive producers. The authors are also behind the current blockbuster Deadpool, which recently became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
