It got no less than 7.9 million units shipped, which means it&#8217;s not only the best-selling game in the franchise but the bestseller versus all the other Capcom games, too! Let&#8217;s look at the list:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monster Hunter: World \u2013 7.9 million<\/li>\n<li>Resident Evil 5 \u2013 7.5 million<\/li>\n<li>Resident Evil 6 \u2013 7.1 million<\/li>\n<li>Street Fighter II \u2013 6.3 million<\/li>\n<li>Resident Evil 7: biohazard \u2013 5.1 million<\/li>\n<li>Resident Evil 2 \u2013 4.96 million<\/li>\n<li>Monster Hunter Freedom 3 \u2013 4.9 million<\/li>\n<li>Monster Hunter Generations \u2013 4.3 million<\/li>\n<li>Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate \u2013 4.2 million<\/li>\n<li>Monster Hunter 4 \u2013 4.1 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Even Resident Evil 5\/6\/7\/2 and Street Fighter II (!!!) got defeated, too. (Going by their April 16 information, the game is over eight million already, but since the other titles have no such information, we did not want to rig the list in Monster Hunter: World&#8217;s favor.) Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which launched in September on PS4\/X1\/PC, is still around one million &#8211; in three months, it didn&#8217;t manage to get 100 thousand sales, as the fighting game was still listed at 1 million at the end of December. (We&#8217;d like to respond to that with one world: LOL.)<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get through their financial results, too &#8211; 74.141 billion yen revenue (a 26.3% year-on-year increase) and 19.103 billion yen net profit (72.2% increase). For the next fiscal year (April 2018-March 2019), they <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capcom.co.jp\/ir\/english\/data\/html\/explanation\/2018\/full\/13.html\">already revealed their predictions, expectations<\/a><\/span><\/strong> &#8211; let&#8217;s get into this topic instead&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn4.dualshockers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Screenshot-5_9_2018-6_51_59-AM.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They plan to launch two major titles. We don&#8217;t know if it includes Mega Man 11 (which was already announced), but we guess that the first one could be the new Devil May Cry game, and the second major title could be the next Dead Rising.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn4.dualshockers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Screenshot-5_9_2018-6_53_28-AM.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also plan to launch 53 SKUs (stock keeping units). It doesn&#8217;t mean that they will release 53 games, as the SKUs differentiate other versions and localisations, too. (For example, we could count Mega Man 11 as six SKUs. PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One &#8211; Japanese and Western versions.) In physical\/retail sales, they predict 200 thousand less year-on-year (11.3 million), but increased sales in Europe and North America. Digitally (PlayStation Store, Xbox\/Microsoft Store, Steam), they predict an 800K increase, which means in total, they expect 25 million sales by the end of March, a 600K increase.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn3.dualshockers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Screenshot-5_9_2018-6_53_40-AM.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This image is interesting: they only expect 7.4 million sales by the major games launching this fiscal year. That&#8217;s a 6 million year-on-year decrease. They just don&#8217;t think that Monster Hunter: World&#8217;s sales could be recreated by the two unnamed titles.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Monster Hunter: World&#8217;s success (which means Capcom wants to expand the franchise: pachislot, PC online game (MH: W port), mobile game (MH: Explore), and a collab with Universal Studios Japan &#8211; theme park), they expect a slower year, but more sales due to MH: W.
