People Can Fly‘s next game will have music by Inon Zur, an Emmy Award winner, who was also nominated for BAFTA three times.

Yesterday, People Can Fly and Square Enix held the second Outriders broadcast to provide more details. The publisher had to say the following about the campaign: „Outriders is a massive experience, not just in terms of the hours of gameplay it will offer, but in how far you travel in the course of the game’s dark sci-fi story. The campaign will take you on an epic journey across Enoch, a savage world where everything has mysteriously hyper-evolved to wipe Humanity from the face of the planet. From the lives and secrets within the Human colony to the mysterious jungles and unforgiving deserts, you will explore the far reaches of the frontiers, gain incredible powers, and make discoveries that will change everything.” In other words, you will always find something to do as you traverse, may it be one of the main missions or a sidequest. However, Outriders would have to make itself played to keep the player engaged. The game still feels like it has some ties to Marvel.

Three videos have been published. The first one discusses the campaign, the second one details the Pyromancer class. explaining how its mechanics work, what skills and abilities have (may they be passive or active), and who it is recommended for. The third one features Inon Zur in action. „As a composer, it’s always extremely exciting to be involved in building new worlds and telling new stories, so I’m thrilled to reveal that I have composed the score for People Can Fly and Square Enix’s epic sci-fi action game Outriders. It was a lot of fun blending heavy orchestral soundscapes and futuristic musical sound design for this roller coaster sci-fi adventure and I can’t wait to share the music with you,” Zur said in a press release. He has composed for quite a few games (a few examples: Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Dragon’s Dogma, Dragon Age II, Crysis…).

When Outriders was first announced for a Summer 2020 window, we already suspected that it would also be on the next-gen consoles. That has been confirmed, but now the game comes this Holiday season on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam). There will be no PVP, the game will take 25-30 hours to complete (add 2-3 if you want to check the post-campaign content), and you can play as any character on six locations – you can transfer the equipment in a chest. The game won’t be an open-world title.
