Although we are far from Take-Two officially unveiling the next BioShock (which, unfortunately, has no involvement by the original creator, Ken Levine…), you can already hear a few things about it if you look closely.

According to job listings, BioShock 4 (which might not even have the number in its title…) will be in a new setting, and the narrative will continue to be a key element in it like in the previous games. At least it will continue to follow the series in this aspect.

„New details on the next Bioshock game developed by the new studio Cloud Chamber Studios. Several job listings point to experience in Unreal Engine 4, one job list says “we use UE4”. It is also slated for ‘next-gen‘, which is no surprise with it being ‘several years away’,” MauroNL wrote on Twitter.

The job listings by Cloud Chamber Studios also mention breathing „life into a new and fantastical world,” and that the combat will be „accessible, satisfying, and will allow for a high degree of player expression and experimentation within a highly reactive world.”

The last BioShock game was BioShock Infinite, which launched in 2013 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, but was since re-released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as part of BioShock: The Collection. „Return to the cities of Rapture and Columbia and experience the award-winning BioShock franchise like never before, beautifully remastered in 1080p. BioShock: The Collection contains all single-player content from BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, all single-player add-on content, the “Columbia’s Finest” pack, and Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock, featuring Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson,” its blurb says.

At least Take-Two confirmed this new BioShock game, unlike with the new Mafia, which Hangar 13 is doing (it will tie Mafia: Definitive Edition into that).

Source: WCCFTech

Please support our page theGeek.games on Patreon, so we can continue to write you the latest gaming, movie and tech news and reviews as an independent magazine.
