Well, NVIDIA has shared even more performance data about the flagship of its new generation of cards, and it looks like we\u2019re dealing with a real beast even compared to the RTX 2080 Ti!<\/p>\n<p>The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will also make us forget the memory of the RTX 2080 Ti &#8211; with RTX turned on, more than 100 FPS can be produced with it in state-of-the-art, peak triple-A games with maximum image quality in 4K!<\/p>\n<p>At the unveiling, Jensen only shared percentages of performance data compared to previous-generation cards, but a Q&amp;A took place at Reddit during which NVIDIA&#8217;s director of GeForce product management Justin Walker shared important FPS numbers for the new GeForce RTX 3080 in connection with their latest graphics card.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 with its 10GB will be able to provide enough memory to run next-gen games, Justin replied that their goal was to provide great performance on their next-generation flagship card even at 4K resolution with maximized settings.<\/p>\n<p>Justin also shared some examples with games, saying that the GeForce RTX 3080 will be able to produce 60-100 FPS in multiple AAA titles at 4K resolution, with all settings turned off completely (talking about the highest resolution textures and turning on RTX where possible). The games he mentioned were Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed: Odyssey, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Gears of War 5, Borderlands 3, Metro Exodus and Red Dead Redemption 2.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A7nYy7ZucxM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>[Justin Walker] We\u2019re constantly analyzing memory requirements of the latest games and regularly review with game developers to understand their memory needs for current and upcoming games. The goal of 3080 is to give you great performance at up to 4k resolution with all the settings maxed out at the best possible price.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>In order to do this, you need a very powerful GPU with high speed memory and enough memory to meet the needs of the games. A few examples &#8211; if you look at Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin\u2019s Creed Odyssey, Metro Exodus, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Gears of War 5, Borderlands 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 running on a 3080 at 4k with Max settings (including any applicable high res texture packs) and RTX On, when the game supports it, you get in the range of 60-100fps and use anywhere from 4GB to 6GB of memory.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Extra memory is always nice to have but it would increase the price of the graphics card, so we need to find the right balance. he wrote on Reddit<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At least three of the games listed are sure to use NVIDIA <em><strong>RTX<\/strong><\/em>. These titles are Metro Exodus, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Let\u2019s start with maybe Metro Exodus, which averaged 47 FPS with RTX 2080 Ti, RTX on, and on Ultra preset, while keeping Gameworks settings turned off. Considering that NVIDIA claims that they really put everything to their maximum in their measurements (including the Gameworks effects mentioned), the 60 FPS + performance is an awesome leap. NVIDIA does not state whether <em><strong>DLSS<\/strong><\/em> was also used, but the RTX 2080 Ti measurement was done with DLSS turned off in native 4K.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s go to Shadow of The Tomb Raider, this too has been tested with Ultra settings. The RTX 2080 Ti here produced an average of 55 FPS on Ultra and with turned on DLSS. At 99% utilization, the frame rate produced by the card was 44 FPS. We don\u2019t know exactly how many FPS the RTX 3080 has pushed out of the game, but it can be around 70-80 FPS if you expect a 45% improvement over the RTX 2080 Ti, which is already a 90% jump compared to the RTX 2080, which is simply an incredible achievement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.wccftech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-30-Series-Performance-1480x639.png\" width=\"664\" height=\"287\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the Wolfenstein Youngblood, the power was a maximum of 55 FPS with RTX on, and 80-85 FPS if DLSS was also on. If the RTX 3080 could produce a 40-50% performance increase over the RTX 2080 Ti here as well, as we have seen in other games, we can achieve at least 100, but maybe 100 FPS+ at the same settings. All in all, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 promises to be a fantastic card for 4K gaming, at a very friendly price of $ 699.<\/p>\n<p>The RTX 3080 has astounding specifications, with 68 SM units housed in it, making it have 8704 CUDA cores in total. In addition to the CUDA cores, the card comes with next-generation RT (<em><strong>Ray-Tracing<\/strong><\/em>) technology, Tensor cores, and completely new SM (streaming multi-processor) units.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of memory, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will come with 10GB of memory and will use the new generation GDDR6X design. The RTX 3080 will also be capable of 19.0 Gbps with GDDR6X technology. And this, along with the 320-bit bus interface, can mean up to 760 Gbps of speed.<\/p>\n<p>The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will arrive to users on September 17, 2020. The Founders Edition will cost $ 699. So the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will cost that much, but the price of your custom, modified models will vary depending on their design and extra power.<\/p>\n<p>There are no more detailed performance numbers that NVIDIA has shared, but from what we now know, the GeForce RTX 3070 is faster than the RTX 2080 Ti, the RTX 3080 is well ahead of the RTX 2080 Ti, and the RTX 3090 will be about 50% stronger than the RTX 2080 Ti, which is a very nice performance leap when viewing the overall lineup.
