Beyond Good and Evil 2, Skull & Bones, and even two mysterious games are referred to by Ubisoft as “AAAA” games.

It looks like we can get ready for the dawn of the AAAA games after the triple-A games. We’ve used the AAA title to rate a game for years, and the publishers were okay with that, but the term “AAAA” has become more common recently. Microsoft started it when it said its new studio, The Initiative, specializes in AAAA game development, and now it appears that Ubisoft has also begun to use the term within its own games, as evidenced by the LinkedIn pages of several Ubisoft developers, which mention separate AAAA projects.

The first such mention is related to the artistic director of Beyond Good and Evil 2, Cyril Masquilliere, who apostrophized the title, which boasts a long development time, as a next-gen AAAA, an open-universe game. (Many thanks to a Twitter user named Timur222 for spotting these!)
