An ex-Blizzard guy helms the studio under another publisher – 31st Union<\/strong><\/em> is developing a multiplayer, character-centric action title.<\/p>\n MauroNL3 recapped on Twitter<\/a> what we can know so far from the game that will be published by Take-Two<\/strong><\/em> (or its sublabel, 2K<\/strong><\/em>): \u201eThe studio was formed in 2019 and is led by Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey<\/strong><\/em> and Overwatch narrative lead Michael Shu. The studio operates across two locations in California and Spain and currently has over 30 positions available for hire. Going through these various listings reveals the game is a multi-platform AAA title being developed using Unreal Engine 4.<\/p>\n The game seems to be a \u201emultiplayer character-action game\u201d as is mentioned specifically in the Senior Software Engineer listing. This is echoed throughout other listings with experience in \u201eaction, shooters or MP titles\u201d being a requirement. Another listing describes \u201eCome and help us build the future of Multiplayer Action games!\u201d This is all set in \u201ea rich and stunning world filled with diverse characters and large-scale high population 3d environments.\u201d These characters are \u201ediverse and innovative\u201d and \u201ewill be loved by players for years to come.\u201d Applicants are needed to help \u201etexture weapons, vehicles, and mechanical objects of all kinds\u201d as well as \u201ecutscenes and other cinematics\u201d and \u201eemotionally compelling & technically sophisticated audio.\u201d Visual storytelling is also mentioned frequently.<\/p>\n The studio also houses several ex-Sledgehammer and Visceral Games developers. Condrey is committed to establishing the culture of this studio on its founding, calling it a \u201eclean canvas\u201d and stressed the importance of diversity in the creative process,\u201d the analyst wrote.<\/p>\n So they are effectively doing an Overwatch competitor, which is likely 1.5-2 years away from completion. Since it’s multiplatform, the game – which has no name yet – is going to be available on PlayStation 5<\/strong><\/em>, Xbox Series<\/strong><\/em>, and PC<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
