Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann has shared a tweet on his official account confirming something fans have suspected

It’s been over a year since the release of The Last of Us Part II, one of the most important titles of the last PlayStation generation (it was Game of the Year), with Naughty Dog returning to a franchise that was already important enough with only one game behind it, and now preparing a new multiplayer.

But there are still many things to know about its world and, although the second part leaves us with numerous details if we look at the tiny clues in each scenario or conversation, the one that concerns us today has not been clarified. Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us, has revealed on Twitter what Ellie’s surname is.

As we can see in a message on the official account of the studio’s co-president, Ellie’s surname is Williams, which pays tribute to Ken and Roberta Williams, two video game designers who founded Sierra On-Line, a company that played a key role in the North American industry since the eighties. They led the adventure game genre with well-known titles such as King’s Quest and Mystery House, and Druckmann is a great admirer of their work, which served as an inspiration for many developers working in the field today.

This book chronicles the creation, meteoric rise, and dramatic fall of the company that created some of my favorite games of all time. Written by the guy who ran it! (@caboken) I devoured (and took some important lessons) from it! Highly recommended! #KenSentMe pic.twitter.com/iRMHa1bGS6
