We’ve also checked the foreign press, and THQ Nordic is following an unusual strategy. They announced the game last September, and then not a single image of it surfaced until the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 (and here, our protagonist dons a jetpack). This is quite odd because while we can understand it in the case of SpongeBob SquarePants, as the name sells, not many people remember 1999’s Outcast, and the sequel will be a big surprise.

To quote ourselves from last year: THQ Nordic’s overview follows: “Your friendly neighbourhood invader-slayer is back: Cutter Slade returns to the spectacular alien world of Adelpha in Outcast 2: A New Beginning. Twenty years after the first game’s events, Adelpha finds itself under threat of invasion: ruthless corporations exploit the planet, enslaving and even killing people. Cutter’s mission is clear: organize a resistance, rescue the people, and eliminate the invaders.

Outcast 2: A New Beginning is developed by the original team behind the first Outcast adventure—Appeal Studios from Belgium. The open-world action-adventure features fast-paced third-person combat and a non-linear science-fantasy story with dynamic plot progress based on player actions,” it reads.

We’re feeling a little dejavu. Just as with SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, there’s no word yet on when Outcast 2: A New Beginning will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. The publisher is reluctant to reveal more.
