Under two hours of playtime, even on the hardest difficulty level, without using significant glitches?

The current world record for Resident Evil 4 Remake is 1 hour, 39 minutes, 35 seconds, albeit on the easiest difficulty level, New Game+. But this is in the NMG category, meaning no significant glitches are used. It is also described what is allowed and what is not. All New Game+ unlocks are permitted. No DLC items may be used other than Ashley’s cosmetic hairdos. Out of Bounds, Auto Save Clips, Merchant Clips, Door Clips, and Sniper Clips are NOT allowed.

Shooting locks through doors is allowed. Early Goat Head in Grand Hall is permitted. Gate Skips in Chapter 8 are allowed. Both island turret skips are allowed. Extra Treasure Map Treasures may NOT be used. Charms are allowed. Attache Cases are permitted. All Accessories are allowed. This speedrun can be seen in the first video below. The second video is 1 hour, 58 minutes, and 47 seconds, but it was done at the highest difficulty level (Professional) with an S+ rating. Still, there are some glitches used, explaining the twenty-three-minute difference.

The third video is no longer a speedrun but just an idea from Cycu1 of what it would be like if Resident Evil 4 Remake had fixed camera angles in the style of the first three original PS1 games (and Code Veronica) rather than following the adventures over Leon’s back and shoulders. We can see the beginning of the game this way, and the result looks relatively good, but the combat, in this case, would still be problematic, so until someone gets serious about a better mod, this is just a concept, nothing more.

When will we get to the point where speedruns fall below a time we can’t believe?
