While Agent 47‘s reboot isn’t capped at 30 fps, its framerate is still able to drop to a lowly 20 fps! IO Interactive decided to restart the story of the bald hitman after Absolution, and so far, it doesn’t look all rosy.
Last Autumn, we wrote about a pre-alpha version of the game and how poorly it ran. It was before Hitman was delayed from its initial December launch date. Even though it was pushed back to March, the game is still going to be in an episodic format and despite the delay, the framerate isn’t the best yet. The first intro mission has drops to 40, 30 or even 20 frames per second due to a lot of NPCs. 60 fps is barely seen in a small, closed kitchen! The second mission starts out much better but as we get close to the base, the framerate tanks instantly to under 40 fps. Maybe putting a 30 fps cap can help the issues but who knows?
DigitalFoundry deserves a pat on the back yet again, but IO Interactive has problems. What was the point of delaying the game then?
