CINEMA NEWS – Disney has announced that filming has begun on the next Star Wars live-action TV series, The Acolyte, and the company has also confirmed the cast. Now it has also been revealed that Carrie-Anne Moss has joined the new Star Wars- for the series, alongside Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett and others.
As previously announced, Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) and Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) will star in the series, along with Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (Logan), Alongside Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones).
The Acolyte is described as a “mystery thriller” set in the final days of the Great Republic era. Viewers will see a world of “shady secrets and emerging dark side forces.”
“A former Padawan reunites with his Jedi master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they come up against are far more sinister than they ever expected,” reads the series description.

The Acolyte is showrunner and executive produced by Leslye Headland, showrunner and co-creator of Netflix’s Russian Doll. Once completed, The Acolyte will be available on Disney+.
That’s not the only new live-action Star Wars TV series in the works: Spider-Man director Jon Watts is producing a new series that will reportedly take place after the events of Return of the Jedi.
