Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Shines as the Star of Tokyo Game Show! [VIDEO]

The next game from Kojima Productions had a special show at the Tokyo Game Show, and we got more details about Hideo Kojima’s work.

Four characters were confirmed during the show, revealing who they are based on and who will be voicing them in Japanese: Tarman (portrayed by George Miller/voiced in Japanese by Mitsuru Miyamoto), Dollman (Fatih Akin/Tomokazu Sugita), Tomorrow (Eli Fanning/Shion Wakayama), and Rainy (portrayed and voiced by Shioli Kutsuna). A photo shooting event was also introduced, where the player can take a picture of the characters with an instant camera. Don’t worry, there will also be a standard photo mode. Kojima just said that it would be nice to take good pictures, as it only seems like a fun element on the surface, as everything will have an impact on the story.

You can watch Daichi Miura perform a new song and dance created for the game with a Dollman team in the game’s private room by performing a certain action. Horizon Dreamer will be available on Spotify and Apple Music on September 30th. Then there’s the long-awaited question of when Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released. Here’s what Kojima had to say:

“Although we haven’t announced the release date yet, of course we already have one. The plans are in place. Although production is progressing towards that goal, various factors could affect the timing of the release… We said 2025, so it will come out next year. The release date will be announced sometime next year. It’s not finished yet, but I feel confident and it’s going to be an even weirder game than the first one. We’re making it with a sense of ‘Is there really a game like this out there?’” – Kojima said.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be one of Sony’s bigger launches in 2025 (the other being Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei, which Sony announced during State of Play). We don’t know exactly when it will arrive, but we do know it’s coming to PlayStation 5 next year.
