Intel Arc B770: Is the Big Battlemage Graphics Card Coming Soon?

TECH NEWS – GPUs running on the Battlemage architecture are starting to appear here and there, but it remains to be seen when they will be available.

Intel has confirmed the addition of its top Battlemage graphics card, the Arc B770, to one of its GitHub repositories, as noted by Twitter user @Haze2K1. Other Arc GPUs are listed as well (e.g., B580, A770, and A750). The addition of the B770 further suggests that Intel is preparing to launch a new product. The Arc B770 will replace the Arc A770 as the new flagship of Intel’s Arc discrete product family. This product line was last updated over a year ago with the release of the Arc B580 and Arc B570. The Arc B570 debuted at CES 2025. If Intel announces the B770 at CES 2026, it will have been a year later. Intel launched Pro products based on the Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU in the second half of 2025. However, gamers have been waiting a long time for a larger Battlemage GPU.

What we know about the Intel Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU is that it will reportedly have four SKUs, a claim supported by the leak of Device IDs. The Arc BMG-G31 “Big Battlemage” GPU is expected to have up to 32 Xe2 cores and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. If priced between $300 and $400, it would be a significant improvement over the Arc A770. This would put it in direct competition with Nvidia RTX 5060 and AMD RX 9060 cards. The Intel graphics card reportedly has a TDP of 300W.

Intel had more ambitious plans for the Arc Battlemage product line, but ultimately scrapped them. If released, the Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU will be released after Intel switches to iGPU architecture with the new Xe3 design, which will continue to be marketed under the Arc Battlemage family name. We hope to see movement in the GPU space, as there are reports that others may postpone or cancel their plans due to the ongoing DRAM shortage.
