Redlock Studio has announced an intriguing game inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft.
Hypnos is a first-person adventure and exploration game set in a megastructure fever dream inspired by Lovecraft’s works. Enter the Nameless City at the Edge of Dreams. Follow the trail into the shadow of the Holy Mountain. Wander through realms where the laws of the universe break down and yield to other forces. Walk the Path and embrace your destiny. Your story is being written in the pages of the Maze Chronicles.
In the Dreamlands, all paths lead to the Holy Mountain of Kadath, where the gods dwell. Shadowed by the mountain lies the Nameless City, built on the ruins of those who came before. There, Choron, a vagabond burdened by his past, searches for a faceless boy who haunts his dreams. To find him and unravel the threads of his own destiny, Choron must solve the city’s mysteries, face the Monarchs who rule the far reaches of the world, and cross the veils that separate ignorance from truth. Find the faceless boy. Find Matthew.
Wander a unique semi-open world. Find your own way through the Nameless City. Meet the strange inhabitants of the Far Reaches. They are all caught in the same web of causality: Dreamers, spirits, creatures, and bizarre figures. Your actions influence their destinies. Interact with your environment. Transform the matter of dreams and the city. Lift the veils that conceal reality.
The minimum system requirements have only been listed on Steam so far:
64-bit operating system and processor required.
Operating system: Windows 11 (version number not specified)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8 cores)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
DirectX: DX12
Free storage space: 20 GB
The developers probably meant gigabytes for storage space, but never mind. Hypnos will be released sometime this year for PC and unspecified consoles. It seems that even Redlock Studio doesn’t know which consoles will get the game.
