The New Scary Movie Will Definitely Upset Some Viewers

MOVIE NEWS – More than a decade after the first film, a new Scary Movie is on the way – and there will definitely be people who won’t take it well.

The franchise parodies the biggest horror films with jokes that range from genuinely brilliant to outright childish, deliberately ignoring both written and unwritten expectations of political correctness. Comedian Marlon Wayans, actor and co-writer of the first two installments, is returning – and he promises they won’t hold back this time. “This is how we’ve always done it,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “We want to make everyone laugh, and I don’t care how sensitive someone is – we’re going to step on toes. Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves sometimes.”

“When we made White Chicks, we didn’t worry about who might get offended either. We mocked Black people, white people, Latinos, and plenty of others, because that’s what we do. We laugh at everything because nothing should be taken too seriously. We’re not trying to hurt anyone – that’s not what comedy is for. Someone might still get offended by this or that, but come on, no joke works one hundred percent of the time. If you tell a joke that makes a hundred people laugh and one person storms out offended, it’s still a good joke.”

Wayans also claims their new film will leave a lasting mark. “People will be talking about it for a long time, and every age group will have something to say, because it’s been a long time since anyone got a proper comedy.”
