Xbox Poked The Hornet’s Nest: Forza Horizon 6 Early Access Just Got Pricier

Xbox has enraged players by making early access to Forza Horizon 6 more expensive. Even with Game Pass, you still have to pay an extra 60 euros for the Premium Edition. The Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 6 is priced at 120 euros, which is a 20 percent jump over the previous entry. Xbox is once again hiking the early access cost for Forza Horizon 6. Game Pass subscribers may have to pay up to 50 euros more to reach the Premium Edition.

Playground Games’ next arcade racer, Forza Horizon 6, has been on many wishlists for years. Over the past few days, Xbox dropped a first gameplay trailer loaded with fresh additions, while also locking in the release date, the different editions, and a clearer picture of what the game is aiming to be. While most of what surrounds Forza Horizon 6 sounds like good news, players were notably unhappy once the price details for the Premium Edition surfaced.

The Controversy Surrounding Forza Horizon 6

As Gamingbolt notes, the Premium Edition sits at 119.99 euros and comes with four days of early access. That is the entry fee for anyone who wants Forza Horizon 6 permanently in their library, but Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who choose to upgrade will still need to pay 59.99 euros, only 10 euros less than the Standard Edition. The community has reacted angrily to that move, especially when it is stacked against the previous installment.

The Premium bundle is 20 euros higher than the equivalent pack for Forza Horizon 5 (from 100 euros to 120 euros), and the subscription-linked upgrade has climbed from 50 euros to 60 euros. On top of that, Game Pass Ultimate has seen price increases, which makes the subscription plus the Premium upgrade a noticeably costlier combo than it was a few years ago. Even so, it is worth pointing out that this edition also includes two content expansions scheduled to arrive months after launch.

This edition also comes with a VIP membership (double credit multiplier, exclusive cars, weekly Super Roulette, and a special house in Tokyo), plus a Welcome Pack (pre-tuned cars and a dealership voucher), a Time Attack Car Pack, a Car Pass delivering 30 weekly cars, and the Italian Passion Car Pack. Despite the backlash, Forza Horizon 6 still looks set to be a huge, potentially landmark release for Xbox.

Xbox has angered gamers by raising the price of early access to Forza Horizon 6, and even with Game Pass you will have to pay an extra 50 euros for the Premium Edition.

The Editions Of Forza Horizon 6

According to the official Forza site, the game is targeting the largest map in the series, with Tokyo as its biggest urban area to date (five times larger than Guanajuato in Forza Horizon 5), alongside a campaign built around progressing until you reach Legend Island. We can expect nighttime races on mountain passes, more music than ever, new steering animations reaching up to 540 degrees, upgrades to sound design and social tools, and a more tightly integrated multiplayer experience.
