TECH NEWS – Xiaomi and renowned game developer Polyphony Digital Inc. – a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. – announced that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has been available since January 29 in the hit racing title Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5. This marks the first time a Xiaomi model has entered the Gran Turismo franchise, letting players worldwide test the capabilities of this high-performance luxury car on the game’s virtual circuits.
The Gran Turismo series is widely regarded as a benchmark in the industry, thanks to its realistic driving experience and strict vehicle selection criteria. The iconic franchise features performance-focused models from classic brands. As part of the collaboration announced by Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital on June 7, 2025, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra joins the Gran Turismo lineup, bringing exceptional performance and technological innovation to the roster.
Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo series, tested the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra on multiple occasions at locations including Beijing, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and the Tsukuba Circuit, and held in-depth exchanges with Xiaomi’s electromobility leadership and engineering team. To recreate the SU7 Ultra experience as faithfully as possible, the teams committed to building an extremely precise vehicle and physics model, which is why Xiaomi’s team traveled to Polyphony Digital’s Fukuoka studio to take part in validating the final driving feel, ensuring the in-game version accurately reflects the dynamics of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is powered by the company’s in-house Dual V8s + V6s Xiaomi Hyper Tri-Motor system, delivering a combined maximum output of 1,548 hp and 1,770 Nm of torque. Paired with an 800V high-voltage platform, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, and features a double-wishbone front suspension and five-link rear suspension, plus dual-chamber air springs matched with high-performance adaptive dampers, striking an ideal balance between precise handling and comfortable travel. Its CLTC range is 630 km, and it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes.
As the high-performance flagship of Xiaomi EV, the production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra lined up on April 1, 2025 at the 24-kilometer Nürburgring Nordschleife, famously known as the Green Hell. Equipped with the optional track package, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra posted a lap time of 7:04.957, setting a new lap record for electric luxury cars on the Nordschleife. This milestone result – enabled by a top-tier electric powertrain, finely tuned torque vectoring, chassis setup, and advanced aerodynamic design – reflects ongoing development work.
Previously, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, expressed his excitement that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is joining Gran Turismo 7, and said he hopes the move will help even more players and car enthusiasts discover the appeal of Xiaomi EV’s high-performance intelligent vehicles.
In 2025, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was showcased in multiple countries and regions, including Spain, Singapore, Japan, and Berlin, earning recognition from automotive professionals and fans worldwide. Within Xiaomi EV’s global strategy, this performance-focused vehicle – blending power with smart solutions – demonstrates its technological edge and appeal on both virtual and real-world tracks. To mark the launch, Polyphony Digital is hosting an official two-week time trial event on Gran Turismo 7’s Monza circuit, inviting players from around the world to compete in the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
