A mod has been created for the game, which was released for PC in spring 2015. If we had to describe it in one word, it would definitely be depraved.
How does that song by the Welsh rock band Stereophonics go? “All it takes is one tree for a thousand matches and one match to burn a thousand trees.” Before we ruin this analogy, Pluma_1980’s attempt to modernize Grand Theft Auto V only requires a hobby modder and 20,000 trees.
The project, called GTA5 V4EVER, aims to update the entire map by adding more environmental details than a game released in 2013 probably deserves. Grand Theft Auto V was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. This undertaking is far from simple: it adds 20,000 new objects to the world, including trees, plants, shrubs, fences, poles, signs, street litter, roadside landscapes, and much more.
Outdated assets, such as telephone booths, have been completely removed. City districts have been repainted in line with their economic status or covered with a new layer of grime. Pluma’s ultimate goal is to create a world that feels alive and revitalized without losing its original spirit. The result is a rebuilt Los Santos and Blaine County with fresh-looking main roads and revitalized suburbs.
According to Pluma_1980, his goal is simply to refresh the world – to make every part of the map feel alive again as if it were a modern game. Of course, this does not mean that Grand Theft Auto V is obsolete. PC users have access to last year’s Enhanced version, which features ray tracing. Those with older machines can access the original version (called Legacy) from Rockstar Games‘ PC port, released nearly eleven years ago.
