TECH NEWS – Up to 12 vehicles can be charged at the same time with Schneider Electric’s new charging equipment. The StarCharge Fast 720 is designed for commercial and industrial sites, and it can also be a strong option for fleet operators. In Hungary, the number of fully electric cars on the road passed the 100,000 mark by the end of last year, and continued growth depends heavily on building the right charging infrastructure. The domestic EV stock increased by 31,000 units last year alone. Demand is also being boosted by the corporate e-car programme backed by a HUF 45 billion budget, which was extended again on February 5, meaning companies can still apply until April 15 this year.
Schneider Electric, one of the world’s leading energy technology companies, says the newly introduced StarCharge Fast 720 sets a new benchmark for EV infrastructure with a 97% efficiency rate, balancing performance and sustainability. Thanks to dynamic load management, it can deliver optimal charging across multiple vehicle types – from electric trucks to buses and passenger cars – helping drivers get back on the road faster.
The StarCharge Fast 720 was built with the needs of commercial and industrial facilities as well as fleet operators in mind. The system can provide up to 720 kW of power and can charge as many as 12 vehicles simultaneously.
Its decentralised architecture offers exceptional flexibility. Operators can place up to six charging posts within an 80-metre radius of the energy hub, making it a practical fit for a wide range of sites. By design, Schneider Electric’s new charger reduces grid connection requirements, simplifies installation, and lowers noise – improving the overall user experience.
The Schneider StarCharge Fast 720 also comes with full lifecycle support, from installation through to a tailored maintenance programme, backed by 24/7 assistance and remote monitoring via Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Energy Asset Portal. These features are intended to maximise uptime and deliver cost efficiency for operators.
Across Europe, fully electric vehicles already account for 16% of newly registered cars, and their popularity is also rising in Hungary. According to Hungary’s Ministry of Energy, more than 101,000 such vehicles had been registered in the country by the end of last year.
“Based on an earlier survey of ours, 75% of Hungarian corporate decision-makers would choose an electric car over a conventional internal-combustion vehicle if proper workplace charging were available. This also shows how critical infrastructure is to the expansion of electric mobility. Our new StarCharge Fast 720 charging system offers a future-proof solution for charge point operators and for businesses looking for reliable, high-performance infrastructure alike,” stressed Áron Géczy, Marketing Director at Schneider Electric.
The StarCharge Fast 720 will be available in Hungary soon.
