Dragami Games unexpectedly decided to postpone the release of the chainsaw game’s port on Nintendo’s new hardware, even though it didn’t seem that far away anymore…
Dragami Games announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePop – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will no longer hit its previously planned March 26 release date. The problem is that the new date is unknown. It never sounds good when a delay is announced without a defined window. Most recently, regarding Nintendo Switch 2, we reported that Borderlands 4 development had been put on hold for Nintendo’s hybrid platform, which more likely means the port was canceled, but hopefully that is not the case with Dragami Games’ title.

“Lollipop Chainsaw RePop – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition had been scheduled for release on March 26. However, due to the need for significant updates not only to the Nintendo Switch 2 version but also to the currently released Nintendo Switch version, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the release. We sincerely apologize to all fans who have been eagerly awaiting this title. We will announce the new release date as soon as preparations are complete,” Dragami Games wrote in its statement.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop first launched on September 12, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This was followed by the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports on December 2, 2024. On August 12 last year, sales (across all platforms) reached 300,000 units. So, in essence, the game is already out on nearly every platform, and only the Nintendo Switch 2 version remains.
If it really is only a case of Dragami Games needing to carry out more substantial updates on the game, then we are hopeful that the task is ultimately just optimization work, and making sure the port can properly take advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s capabilities. If that is the case, then we probably won’t end up disappointed.
