After a long wait, Joy Brick and PQube are finally bringing their anime-inspired tank simulation to consoles.
Take command of a German Panzer platoon and lead your troops through the chaos of World War II in a tank sim that blends hard strategy with anime-inspired visuals. Battles play out in explosive third-person encounters across Europe, where every shot matters: load specialized ammunition, aim for weak points, and call in tactical support while adapting to a frontline that never stays still. Between missions, build an elite crew by handpicking recruits with unique skills, then deploy a formidable arsenal of meticulously modeled tanks, each with its own traits, strengths, and vulnerabilities. In a conflict where victory is earned through cunning, adaptability, and precision, do you have what it takes to come out on top?
The campaign runs from the Battle of France to Operation Barbarossa, pushing you to smash through defensive lines, seize key objectives, and repel ferocious counterattacks, including high-stakes clashes against Allied armor. Use terrain to your advantage, switch to specialized shells, and exploit weak points to immobilize and destroy targets. Manage your tank’s vital systems, drop smoke screens, call in air support, and organize your platoon’s formation in real time to gain the upper hand. You can also assemble an elite team from 30 eager recruits, level up their skills, dig into their backstories, and experiment with different loadouts to boost combat effectiveness.
The garage is where the arsenal grows: from the nimble Panzer III to the mighty Tiger I, every vehicle comes with distinct stats, armor profiles, and authentic camouflage patterns. Put yourself to the test in demanding bonus missions to earn rewards for upgrading both crew and garage, or jump straight into action via a customizable skirmish mode. The package also includes three additional bonus tank packs: take control of the U.S. Army’s M4-748 Sherman and M26 Pershing, field the British Churchill VII and Valentine XI, and deploy the Axis long-range tank destroyer Elefant alongside the super-heavy Panzer VIII Maus.
Panzer Knights launched on PC in early access on October 6, 2020, and left early access on May 19, 2021. The console release, Panzer Knights: Commander’s Edition, is due in 2026 for PlayStation 5 (with a physical edition) and Xbox Series.
