Total War: Warhammer 3 Is Adding a Brand-New Race That Has Never Existed Before – Meet the Tiger Warriors

The latest major Warhammer strategy release is about to introduce a race that has never existed anywhere in its fantasy setting. Bhashiva’s Tiger Warriors are set to arrive next spring in Total War: Warhammer 3.

Even at four years old, Total War: Warhammer 3 keeps getting fresh content and still sits among the genre’s heavy hitters. For the 10th anniversary of Total War: Warhammer, Creative Assembly is rolling out Lords of the End Times and pairing it with a completely new faction: the Tiger Warriors. These towering, muscle-bound feline warriors have never shown up in Warhammer Fantasy lore before.

The Tiger Warriors are led by Bhashiva of Shang Yang, a mercenary ruler who moves like a shadow and slices through formations with the Blades of Shang Yang. His signature ability, Heavenly Gate, lets him reposition fast and set up brutal ambushes, matching the faction’s core idea: precision strikes, mobility, and constant surprise.

They are not arriving as a standalone army, but as part of Grand Cathay, and they debut through a unique character pack that includes a legendary anti-infantry Lord, an anti-Large Lord, a spellcasting hero, and three distinctive units (Dual Fighter, Hybrid, and Anti-Large). The pack also brings campaign layers, special missions, and a final battle built specifically around this race.

The Tiger Warriors Are a New Addition to the Warhammer World

Their backstory comes with a clear history and geography: originally from lands now associated with India, they were saved from the chaos of Tzeentch by their leader Kamau and then guided toward the western deserts and the domain of the Iron Dragon, Zhao Ming. Across their history, they have treated the Beastmen and the Chaos God Tzeentch as their primary enemies. In the official Warhammer tabletop lore, this race never appeared at all.

Even though the Tiger Warriors are entirely new to the Warhammer universe, there are familiar echoes in how they’re framed tactically. Other Warhammer Fantasy forces – including certain Kislevite mercenaries, smaller feline beasts, the Beastmen, or even the Skaven – share traits like high mobility, sudden strikes, and rapid ambush play. But none match their physical profile or fuse stealth, speed, and ferocity as directly as the Tiger Warriors do, which is what makes them a genuinely distinct addition.

With this faction, Creative Assembly expands the overall variety of Total War: Warhammer 3, which currently lists 24 races and 96 individual factions when DLC and Immortal Empires content are included. The Tiger Warriors will be priced at €5 in late spring 2026.
