The Occultist: Maybe It Won’t Be Delayed Again!

Daloar and Daedalic Entertainment have finally announced the release date for their first-person psychological horror game, which was first announced in 2024.

In The Occultist, paranormal investigator Alan Rebels travels to the mysterious island of GodStone to find out what happened to his father. Although his father mentioned the island repeatedly over the decades, Alan knows little more than that his father was born and spent his early years there. But Alan does not travel alone. He carries his mystical pendulum with him, an object of unknown origin that has accompanied him on all his past paranormal investigations. As Alan explores the foggy streets and eerie buildings that appear to be the only remaining structures on GodStone, it becomes clear that this case will be unlike any other.

Until 1950, GodStone was inhabited by a notorious cult that conducted disturbing experiments and gruesome rituals. No one has set foot on the island since — until now. Using his paranormal abilities, Alan must interact with the ominous spirits lingering in GodStone’s eerie streets and buildings, or avoid them at all costs if they are hostile. As a paranormal investigator, none of this is new to Alan. However, GodStone and the search for answers about his father’s disappearance put Alan’s skills to the test. More than any other investigation, GodStone challenges Alan’s beliefs about what is possible in the world of the occult. Perhaps GodStone holds a curse that can be lifted… but should it be?

The Mystic Pendulum is the most important object to Alan. Through its five unique and original mechanics, it allows him to interact with and modify the environment. Experience the foreboding world of The Occultist through Alan’s eyes and use the Mystic Pendulum to unravel the mystery of GodStone from a first-person perspective. The Occultist has all the hallmarks of the horror genre, including tense exploration, atmosphere, and an up-close-and-personal narrative. The game boasts amazing graphics for a truly immersive horror experience. Alan always avoids direct combat. He must use stealth mechanics to progress through the story without being caught off guard. GodStone is populated with enemies that will make your investigation a real nightmare. There are puzzles ranging from simple to those that require knowledge of the occult arts. The Occultist features an original soundtrack by the renowned composer Pepe Herrero.

It will be released on April 8 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The standard edition will cost $30, and a Deluxe Edition, which includes the soundtrack and a 200-page digital art book, will cost $40.
