CD Projekt RED’s response only adds to the suspicion that, despite the rumors, there’s still complete silence around The Witcher 3.
As far as we officially know, CD Projekt RED (CDPR) is currently working on The Witcher IV, a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, an action RPG codenamed Project Hadar, and a multiplayer Witcher title codenamed Project Sirius. Lately, rumors have been swirling about a new DLC expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and while nothing has been confirmed yet, plenty of signs suggest it could be announced – and released – later this year.
What we apparently won’t be getting, however, is any new expansion or DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR confirmed this directly via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account after a user asked “when the secret new DLC is coming.” The response was unambiguous: “We have no plans for additional DLCs or expansions. If anything changes, we will inform you all!”

If CDPR ever changes its mind, it wouldn’t be the first time Cyberpunk 2077 received an unexpected update, which likely explains why the question came up in the first place. Unsurprisingly, the statement only poured more fuel on the fire among players pressing CDPR to finally say something – anything – about the rumored The Witcher 3 DLC.
With The Witcher IV potentially closer than it sounds – in the sense that a release date announcement could arrive later this year – it’s reasonable to assume the core target platforms will be PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, while Nintendo Switch 2 and any next-gen versions would follow later. Ideally, this time we can take CDPR at its word and focus on what will actually be new between the rumored The Witcher 3 DLC and the eventual launch of The Witcher IV.
Still, the fact that CDPR remains silent about The Witcher 3 says plenty.
