Similar to the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, the Starfield PlayStation 5 port is a hot topic — except among Bethesda (Microsoft).
Starfield is reportedly set to be announced for the PlayStation 5 before March 20. According to the latest leak from a reliable source, Bethesda will soon announce the Starfield port for the PlayStation 5. The PlayStation 5 version of the sci-fi game has been spotted on the website of a Romanian retailer, hinting at an imminent release. Bethesda has also hinted that it will make an announcement sometime in March.
Earlier this month, renowned tipster Billbil-kun reported that Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) would announce Starfield for PlayStation 5. Its appearance at the Romanian retailer suggests that the release is imminent. Billbil-kun previously said that BGS would announce the game for the PlayStation 5 on March 17 or 18. While the game will be available for preorder immediately, the full release date is reportedly April 7. The Romanian retailer also lists April 7 as the release date. Of course, the retailer may have listed a placeholder date based on rumors, but Bethesda has officially hinted that the studio will announce Starfield-related news later this month.
Billbil-kun‘s leak also mentions the expected pricing strategy for the PlayStation 5 port of Starfield. Similar to the Xbox and PC versions released in 2023, there will be two editions: Standard and Premium. The former is reportedly set to launch at $50/€50, while the latter could be $70/€70. These rumored prices are lower than the launch prices of the Xbox and PC versions. As a reminder: Bethesda originally priced the Standard edition at $70 and the Premium edition at $100. Although the price from the Romanian retailer is higher than the leaked price, the Portuguese retailer GamingReplay is offering the standard version online for €50.
Until Bethesda makes an official announcement, however, these retail listings should be treated with caution.
