Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight: Release Date Moved Up [VIDEO]

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was originally scheduled to launch on May 29, but TT Games and Warner Bros. Games have now pushed the release one week earlier. That means Bruce Wayne’s latest brick-built adventure will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 22, 2026, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow later this year.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a new open-world action-adventure game built around Bruce Wayne’s journey toward becoming Gotham City’s defining hero. The project draws inspiration from decades of Batman films, television series, comics, and video games, blending Dark Knight nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ familiar brand of playful Lego humor. The story begins with a young Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows, then gradually expands into a broader, story-driven campaign in which players build a surrogate family alongside Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul as they face a growing threat from Gotham’s most dangerous villains.

TT Games is also promising a more dynamic combat system this time around. Batman’s signature fighting style is translated into fluid attack chains, counters, and exaggerated takedowns, while iconic gadgets remain central to the action. Players can throw Batarangs to distract or stun enemies, or use the Batclaw to yank them closer. The game can be played solo as Batman or in two-player local co-op, and partner characters each bring their own gear to the table. Jim Gordon uses a foam sprayer, Robin carries a line launcher, and Catwoman relies on her whip, giving encounters and boss battles more flexibility than a straightforward button-mashing brawler.

Beyond combat, Gotham City itself is being turned into a full open-world Lego playground. Players will stop crimes, solve puzzles, uncover secrets, and collect rewards spread across rooftops, alleys, and streets throughout the city. Batman can grapple from building to building, glide above Gotham with the Batglider, or cruise in style with various Batmobiles and Batcycles. The Batcave is also customizable, allowing players to display vehicles, trophies, collectibles, and wearable Batsuits inspired by earlier Batman media. For anyone looking for more than the usual breezy Lego difficulty, the game also introduces a tougher Caped Crusader setting and an even harsher Dark Knight mode.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
