CD Projekt RED has several projects on the table at once. To name just a few, the Polish team is working on The Witcher 4, the remake of the first The Witcher, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and a new IP that is currently known by the codename Hadar. Today we focus on this last license, as the company has shared a summary of the highlights of their 2025 and added a final gem to confirm that their next major franchise has reached a new phase.
The detail was mentioned at the end of a CD Projekt RED video available on YouTube, where Piotr Nielubowicz, Chief Financial Officer, reviews the current state of the company’s games and its financial situation. The presentation barely includes relevant news, but Nielubowicz ends by putting the focus on the team’s next franchise: “As for cool news I can share, within our third completely new internally developed IP, codenamed Hadar, we have moved to the conceptualization phase of the first video game.”
And that’s all. We still know nothing about Project Hadar, at least officially, but a CD Projekt RED job posting (already removed from the company’s website, but available on Wayback Machine) was looking for a senior gameplay designer with experience in RPG or action titles with melee combat. Although this is not a confirmation of the gameplay we will see in the Polish team’s new saga, the detail has caught the attention of a good number of fans. Even so, we will have to wait for a presentation to understand what CD Projekt RED‘s plans are for its third IP.
CD Projekt RED’s 2025
Setting aside the Hadar news, the company used the YouTube video to recall some of the most memorable events of its 2025. Nielubowicz particularly highlights the presentation of the The Witcher 4 technical demo at Unreal Fest and the fact that Cyberpunk 2 has already reached the pre-production phase — complemented by the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 and the confirmation of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 in collaboration with Studio Trigger.
In terms of sales, Cyberpunk 2077 has distributed 35 million copies since its 2020 launch (with 10 million for the Phantom Liberty DLC) and The Witcher 3 has surpassed the 60 million mark. Finally, it could be said that CD Projekt RED has had a spectacular period in terms of revenue, as 2025 has become the second best year in the company’s history. “To summarize, the foot is still pressing on the accelerator at CD Projekt,” concludes Nielubowicz.
