Strategy First and Flat2VR Studios are also targeting PlayStation VR2, which counts as a rare sight these days.
FlatOut is back – and this time it is coming in virtual reality. In FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR, reckless driving has never been this much fun. FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR pulls together everything players have long loved about FlatOut into a single package, now with full VR support on top. Players will also get access to brand-new features, game modes, and vehicles that may quickly become personal favorites. It is another round of nitro-fueled demolition and derby racing, complete with a wide range of tracks, modes, arenas, and multiplayer options. Welcome back to FlatOut.
High-speed racing and collisions unfold across a variety of tracks and environments. Players can unlock 27 cars, customize them, and take them into competition, including models created as tributes to fan favorites as well as new additions to the garage. The game also supports gamepad controls. FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR includes 20 tracks, covering traditional derby races, time trials, arenas, assault levels, carnage courses, and more. Chaos and destruction return to the racing world through high-speed crashes and wildly destructible environments. The game also includes 12 stunt events in total. Six all-new stunt events and six reimagined classic stunt mini-games are waiting for fans looking for spectacular crashes and death-defying maneuvers.
Three main gameplay modes are available: Death Match, Capture the Flag, and Survivor. In the new Assault mode, players can use a full arsenal of deadly weapons to slow down or destroy their rivals. Race, wreck, and enjoy Stuntman mode offline before taking those skills into multiplayer. Competitive online modes support up to eight players battling across destructive arenas, race tracks, and trap-filled encounters. Friends and family can also take turns in the Stunts hot seat mode, where players compete one after another. FlatOut also packs in more than 35 indie music tracks from around the world.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR launches in Early Access for SteamVR on April 23, while versions for Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 are planned to follow later.
