Third Shift and Annapurna Interactive are set to release a game that was announced quite some time ago.
In Forever Ago, players take on the role of Alfred as he navigates the aftermath of a personal tragedy. Propelled by his minivan and armed with an instant camera, Alfred embarks on a journey north in search of redemption. Along the way, Alfred explores beautiful environments, meets fascinating people, and visits unique places, from serene forest trails to deserts to mountains. He examines objects to help him understand his surroundings and the people who came before. He makes new memories and captures them with his instant camera, which he uses to document his journey and solve small environmental puzzles. Featuring an original soundtrack by Clark Aboud (Slay the Spire), Forever Ago is an emotional exploration of love, loss, and redemption.
Only the minimum system requirements have been listed on Steam.
Minimum system requirements:
64-bit operating system and processor required
Operating system: Windows 7 x64
Processor: Intel Core i3-2130/AMD FX-4100
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750/AMD Radeon HD 7790
DirectX: DX11
Free storage space: 10 GB
These system requirements are only estimates and may be subject to change before release.
The system requirements may not have been updated since 2020. Why do we mention that year? Because the game was first announced in July 2020. More than five and a half years have passed since then, and based on what we have seen so far, Forever Ago does not look like a graphically demanding title. Even so, the minimum specs do seem somewhat dated, although it is still possible that a 12- to 13-year-old PC will end up being enough to run Third Shift’s game, which is a fairly bold premise – a journey undertaken to process life after a tragedy.
Forever Ago is set to launch this fall for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Hopefully, there will not be yet another delay.
