Kuro Games is not just bringing the game to PlayStation 5 – it is also set to show up on Microsoft’s console soon.
Wuthering Waves is a story-rich, open-world action RPG with a high degree of freedom. You awaken as Rover and set out on a journey with a vibrant cast of Resonators to reclaim your lost memories and change the world. Welcome aboard, roving voyager. Upon the shores lie the silent embers of a world during the Ebb Tide. Desolated by the Lament, the erstwhile creations and earthly beings are left motionless. But they strike back, strong enough to break through the silence.
Humanity has risen anew from the ashes of the apocalypse. As Rover, you are ready for the adventure of Awakening. There are companions to meet, enemies to defeat, new powers to gain, hidden truths to uncover, and unseen wonders to admire. A vast world of endless possibilities lies ahead. The choice is in your hands. Be the answer. Be the leader. Follow the sounds and make your way toward a new future. As the echoes of Wuthering Waves reverberate without end, humanity sets out on a new journey. Rise and begin your odyssey.
Wuthering Waves is not exactly a new game, as it first launched on PC – via standalone client and the Epic Games Store – on May 22, 2024. It also debuted on iOS and Android on the same day. The first console version followed on January 2, 2025, when Kuro Games’ title arrived on PlayStation 5. Steam got Wuthering Waves on April 29, 2025, and the game is now set to arrive on Xbox Series sometime in July. Around the same time, it will also become available on PC through the Microsoft Store.
The Chinese expansion continues. At the end of November 2024, Tencent – one of China’s tech giants – acquired a majority stake in Kuro Games, bringing its total ownership to 51.4% after purchasing a 37% stake. Lately, though, we have not really seen that strategy pushed too visibly from them, or from NetEase either.
