One year after its PC release, Landfall has brought this third-person running game to consoles as well.
Haste is a high-speed third-person running game set in a collapsing universe. Race through a wide variety of worlds, master movement mechanics, and use items and abilities to make it through each level before everything falls apart around you. The game consists of ten Shards, each containing a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed in order to unlock the next one. Along the way, players encounter challenges and characters while searching for answers about what is behind the destruction and how it might be escaped.
Blinding speed is the key, and every landing matters. Hit the ground running – literally – and momentum will build, but a mistake comes at a price. Players need to think quickly and pay attention to constantly shifting surroundings in order to escape before the world collapses beneath them. During each run, Sparks can be collected and spent in shop levels to manifest items. These items allow players to customize each run by affecting speed, damage, luck, health, and other variables. Race through procedurally generated levels while progressing across the Shards, and clear every stage before running out of lives in order to move on. Collect items and experiment with different builds to improve the odds. Every journey through these broken worlds is meant to feel unique as players try to outrun the apocalypse.
The entire game can now also be played with other Zoes. The experience is cooperative, which means players need to work together to progress, but level completion times are also tracked, allowing for a light competitive edge. Unlockable skins are available as well, making it easier to tell the characters apart. As Zoe, players will meet different characters who support the journey through wisdom, encouragement, or useful items.
Third-person high-speed running gameplay. Both single-player and online cooperative play. Ten Shards, each featuring a set of procedurally generated levels that must be cleared to advance to the next Shard. More than 90 items that let players customize their build for each attempt. A story to uncover and a cast of lovable characters to befriend. Four spectacular biomes with multiple variations. Four abilities to master and four different bosses to discover. An unlockable endless mode.
Haste first launched for PC on April 1 last year, and yesterday it arrived on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox One for $20.
