State of Play: Is Another Stream Coming in a Few Days?

Even though Sony held a stream in February, the next one is reportedly coming soon.

After the first State of Play event of the year kicked off this year’s series of PlayStation presentations in February, the second event could arrive as early as next week, according to insider NateTheHate. NateTheHate has accurately predicted the dates of such events in the past, including the most recent one in February. Initially, NateTheHate simply mentioned a PlayStation event scheduled before June that would coincide with Summer Game Fest.

After users began to latch onto the idea that there would be a State of Play before June, NateTheHate shared the date he’d heard for the event: April 16, next Thursday. Interestingly, this date coincides with the rumored unveiling of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, we’ll get back to it later in today’s news. It’s important to note, as NateTheHate does, that this information hasn’t been fully confirmed.

However, the fact that two seemingly unrelated rumors have surfaced, one after the other, and that they may be connected to the event lends greater weight to the situation. Adding NateTheHate’s comment that the event will likely focus on third-party games makes it seem more and more likely that there’s smoke where there’s fire. However, we must reiterate that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since we won’t know if these claims are true until the last moment.

PlayStation typically confirms these events just a day or two before the actual date. If State of Play is on April 16, for example, we’ll likely hear about it from an official source no sooner than Tuesday, April 14. It’s likely that the presentation will take place then and feature Ubisoft’s game.
