The Lift: Coming to Consoles… But Not Just Yet! [VIDEO]

Fantastic Signals is no longer planning to release its first-person, narrative-driven, supernatural handyman simulator exclusively for PC.

In the game, you are a handyman renovating a massive research facility that was abandoned after a mysterious incident. The Lift is an eerie, first-person simulator with satisfying house-flipping gameplay, a mind-bending story, and a highly interactive world inspired by Soviet science fiction and the SCP Foundation. Each floor is a massive renovation project with unique challenges. Work at your own pace, tackling everything from basic furniture repairs to complex electrical engineering projects. Use a variety of gadgets, craft what you need, and restore the Institute to its former glory.

Use the lift as your mobile base while traveling across the institute. Explore multiple biomes, unlock hidden areas, meet unforgettable characters, and complete their quests. Uncover the mind-bending truth behind the incident that changed everything. Breathe life back into dozens of intricate devices, from vending machines and generators to satellite dishes and reactors. Build circuits with multiple components, identify fault currents, route cables, manage the power supply, and generate torque to repair each system.

Yes, but it’s no coincidence that we said “not just yet.” When Fantastic Signal and TinyBuild announced it in September, the plan was for The Lift to be released sometime in 2026. However, that has changed, and it may be because of Grand Theft Auto VI, which is coming out this fall. Many are trying to avoid the release of the highly anticipated game. Last year, many speculated about this before Rockstar and Take-Two delayed the release of the most anticipated title in the gaming, and perhaps entertainment, industry from May to November.

Due to the delay, The Lift will now be released in 2027 instead of 2026. We don’t currently have a more specific release date. The target platforms remain unchanged: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It will likely be a while before they specify an exact release date.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
