One hundred thousand euros – that was the total prize money of Deutsche Telekom’s e-sports championship, T-esport, which ended at the weekend For the championship. The best Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Brawl Stars and EA Sports FC 24 players, including two Hungarian competitors, tested their skills at the online events and in the final held in Budapest as part of the Telekom PlayIT Show.
The T-esport Championship organized by Deutsche Telekom impressed e-sport fans with exciting competitions. The competition, which started on September 9, ended last weekend, November 16-17, in Budapest, within the framework of the Telekom PlayIT event. More than 5,000 competitors took part in this year’s championship, and in addition to the best teams from Hungary and Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, North Macedonia and Montenegro, which are considered the priority countries, competitors from all over Europe came to the final.
After the Swiss playoff rounds, the best Counter Strike 2 (PC), League of Legends (PC), Brawl Stars (mobile/tablet) and EA Sports FC 24 (PlayStation 5) teams clashed on Saturday and Sunday. More than 11,000 interested people took part in the Telekom PlayIT Show, which hosted the finals. According to Tibor Rékasi, the CEO of Magyar Telekom and the president of the Hungarian E-Sport Association, this is no wonder, since esports is now a global community that is being joined by more and more people. As he said:

Two Hungarian players were also among the best of the championship: Balázs Vén took the winner’s trophy in the EA FC 24 final, while Mustafa Atif, aka gamezilla, is a pillar of the Counter-Strike 2 winning team, Kubix Pulse. In League of Legends, the BAD LIONS team of European players won 3:0 in the final, and in the Brawl Stars mobile game, the 2023 world champion ZETA DIVISION team won the T-esport Championship.
The uninterrupted gaming experience was ensured by Telekom’s network: the contestants who reached the final could play on a dedicated wired network, on the most powerful gamer PCs. On the local stage in Hungary, players could compete on a wired network with an average delay of 0.78 ms. The same figure showed an average delay of 13.36 ms on Deutsche Telekom’s international network to servers located abroad, which is also outstanding in competitive gaming circles.
In addition to the competitive games, you could enjoy the super-fast network provided by Telekom with an average delay of 20.22 ms for the entire duration of the event on 5G experience on mobile devices.
