NetEase Games‘ live service title keeps expanding, and now season 6 is here.
On Friday, January 16, NetEase Games will roll out Marvel Rivals Season 6, introducing the newest duelist: Deadpool, everyone’s favorite wisecracker. After Season 5 brought Rogue and Gambit to the roster, Season 6 begins with Deadpool, and Elsa Bloodstone will follow at the midpoint (we’re keeping the English names for everyone). As it does ahead of every new season, the Chinese team at NetEase has shared a gameplay video before launch, spotlighting the new hero’s kit. The footage you can watch below highlights Deadpool’s lethal arsenal and the tools players will be able to take advantage of.
Deadpool isn’t just a duelist – he’s effectively a triple-threat hero, combining duelist, strategist, and vanguard roles. As a match unfolds, players can unlock upgrades for his abilities to make him even more dangerous. With that many strengths wrapped into a single character, it’s no surprise that Quick and Competitive modes will allow only one Deadpool per side. Alongside Deadpool’s arrival in the first half of Season 6, NetEase is also pushing a significant overhaul to the heroes’ proficiency system. According to NetEase, the cap will be raised for every hero, and additional rewards are being added (units, unstable molecules, nameplates, titles, nameplate frames, badges, dynamic avatars…).
Season 6 also brings Photo Mode to Times Square, and Times Square is getting a new area as well (the Clobberin’ Club, where you can challenge other players to duels). On January 29, the Museum of Contemplation map will go live, too. As usual, a new season also comes with a batch of bug fixes and balance adjustments. This season effectively kicks off 2026 for NetEase Games and Marvel Rivals. NetEase has said (and we covered it) that 2026 will be the year the studio truly shows how far it can push its third-person hero shooter, after describing 2025 as a warm-up.
