Blades of Fire: Major Update and Steam Release Coming Soon! [VIDEO]

MercurySteam and 505 Games are set to roll out a major update for their dark fantasy adventure game, which has so far skipped Valve‘s digital platform.

Step into the role of Aran de Lira, the last warrior capable of forging true steel in a world where metal turns to stone. Survival depends on patience, understanding, and dedication to the weapons you choose to create. Combat is deliberate, heavy, and unforgiving. Weapons are forged with intent, and the decisions you make shape them. Progress comes from understanding your enemy and the blades you forge to face them. This is built for players who value atmosphere, challenge, and consequences over speed and spectacle.

The Steam release includes the game’s Version 2.0 update, featuring major new features and improvements, as well as the Adventurer Packet (available to purchase separately on consoles and the Epic Games Store after the Steam launch), an art book, and the award-winning original soundtrack by Óscar Araujo. Version 2.0 content arrives on May 14 as a free update across all platforms and brings a wide range of enhancements.

That includes New Game+, a new difficulty tier (Titanium), plus new weapon parts and skins (available only in New Game+). Elements Transmutation lets players change material types. There is also a photo mode and a Boss Revival Mode (a new mode where you can fight bosses again and earn rewards). Adso‘s spells add deeper combat flavor via weapon enhancements (rewards tied to Boss Revival Mode that improve weapon capabilities with special effects). And yes, you can pet the ox.

Additional improvements include expanded death and dismemberment animation variations, improved animation transitions, Nvidia DLSS 4 implementation, fully remappable keyboard and mouse bindings, new achievements, and Steam Deck support.

Blades of Fire launched on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store. It arrives on Steam on May 14 alongside the Version 2.0 update.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
