Remedy Entertainment has released the first extended gameplay reveal trailer for supernatural action RPG CONTROL Resonant, showing Dylan Faden tracking a powerful Resonant enemy through Manhattan’s shifting West Incursion Zone, where otherworldly forces are actively tearing reality apart. Remedy confirmed it will publish the game itself, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing as part of a strategic partnership, and the title is slated for 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The footage is captured on PlayStation 5 Pro and leans hard into the sequel’s new setting: a warped, distorted take on Manhattan built around large, distinct, expansive zones. Remedy says those areas are packed with side activities, hidden encounters, and optional discoveries, positioning exploration as more than a straight shot between story beats.
Traversal and combat are both shaped by Dylan’s supernatural toolkit, which lets him move through spaces that no longer follow normal rules. The trailer highlights “Gravity Anomalies” in particular – areas where gravity and orientation fully shift, forcing you to re-think positioning as the environment flips and bends.
Dylan’s main weapon is the Aberrant, an otherworldly, shapeshifting melee tool that can transform into multiple forms. Progression is built around constantly expanding what you can do: unlocking new Aberrant forms, new supernatural abilities, and additional talents, giving players room to define their own combat flow rather than sticking to a single fixed loadout.
Boss fights revolve around Resonants – remnants of powerful individuals now corrupted and twisted by the same mysterious force threatening reality. Defeating them is framed as a major progression driver, with each Resonant takedown unlocking new combat abilities and widening Dylan’s supernatural arsenal.
Remedy Publishes, Annapurna Co-Finances – And It’s Coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC in 2026
CONTROL Resonant is being published by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures attached as co-financier and co-producer under the companies’ strategic partnership. Platform support is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with PC distribution planned via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The gameplay reveal is effectively a systems statement: a zone-based Manhattan, reality-bending traversal that plays with gravity, a melee-first combat identity built around the Aberrant’s forms, and boss-driven progression through Resonants. There is still no specific release date beyond 2026, but the trailer and the accompanying details make it clear what the sequel is prioritizing – momentum, flexibility, and a combat kit that grows run by run through new forms and abilities.
