The Japanese publisher does not want important details about the franchise’s latest game to leak ahead of release.
With less than a week to go until Resident Evil Requiem launches, we will soon find out what awaits Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Despite the previews and announcements, Capcom has kept its cards close to its chest. We know Leon’s “hot uncle” look is apparently thanks to the female members of the development team, and we know there will be a big, scary monster and a matricide. But for some people, a week is too long to wait. Spoilers have already started to surface online, and Capcom is not happy about it.
“Please don’t post or share pre-release leaks and spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem. We really want everyone to enjoy the game’s story and experience as much as possible. Our legal department will continue to issue takedown and removal notices regarding leaked information in order to preserve the day-one experience. There isn’t much time left until launch, and we can’t wait to see your reactions after release,” Capcom says in its official message to the community.

Resident Evil games are at their best when you go in with zero expectations. The run-up to Resident Evil Village was short and pretty deflating, so it was a pleasant surprise to finally jump in and meet Lady Dimitrescu – along with all the horrors hiding in the four houses. Before Resident Evil 7: Biohazard launched, we avoided everything we could, and the game was better for it. Of course, not having any warning about the jump scares probably shaved a few years off our lives…
Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Capcom has also announced that it will be available in the GeForce Now library from day one.
