Flesh & Wire: Running With Scissors’ New Game Can Be Considered a Postal Spin-Off! [VIDEO]

Running With Scissors has announced Flesh & Wire, a first-person shooter that deliberately digs back into the Postal series’ darker psychological horror roots, making it easy to read as a spin-off tied to that IP.

Flesh & Wire is being positioned as a first-person action game that leans into the unsettling mood and psychological horror DNA that defined the early identity of Postal. Players step into the role of Angel, described as a hapless victim abruptly pulled into a conspiracy and a blood-soaked fever dream. Her motivation is intensely personal: she is hunting answers and vengeance against the gunman who changed her life forever.

Angel won’t be leaning on comfort or clarity. There are no weapons-grade explanations, no reassuring allies, and no clean lines through the chaos – but there is an arsenal built for brutality. Alongside conventional firearms and explosives, the game promises improvised weapons and otherworldly tools, with eerie artifacts that can be called upon to accelerate the carnage through surreal powers. The press material frames the combat loop as a rapid-response slaughterhouse: deadly military forces and shadowy agents push in, mysterious zealots lurk on the edge of civilization, and something worse still beckons from farther away.

The journey is designed around methodically clearing locations as Angel pushes outward from familiar streets to the city limits and beyond, into desolate valleys and snow-covered mountains. Along the way, grotesque visions are said to blend memory and monstrosity into a warped reality a voice in Angel’s mind calls the Dreamscape, a place where the rules feel broken and the environment seems to be actively turning against you.

Progress is also tied to investigation. Discoveries – new weapons, strange creatures, and other unsettling elements – are logged in a growing Journal that functions as an increasingly grim reservoir of knowledge. Players are also encouraged to hunt for secret messages and hidden recordings, then stitch them together to uncover what is actually driving the madness. The messaging is explicit about intent, too: this is pitched as a return to Postal‘s darker, primordial roots rather than the later, more satirical identity. The tagline leans into that promise: the earth is hungry.

Founder Vince Desi described the project in a press release: Flesh & Wire is an idea we’ve been discussing internally and with our community for a long time. With Postal, we’ve explored satire and our own sense of humor as the series has progressed. Now, with Flesh & Wire, we’re returning to our dark, psychological horror roots – another genre we pioneered.”

Flesh & Wire is set to release in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
