We Were Here Tomorrow Expands the Two-Player Puzzle Franchise With Its Biggest Shift Yet [VIDEO]

You will not get far solo, but Total Mayhem Games’ next co-op puzzler is set up so the challenges feel satisfying instead of exhausting.

With more than 25 million players worldwide, the We Were Here series built its name by turning communication, trust, and friendship into the core of its design. We Were Here Tomorrow is positioned as the franchise’s biggest pivot so far. It drops the pair into a retro-futuristic facility, adds distinct character abilities, keeps the trademark walkie-talkie link, and pushes the story in a new direction.

This time the Explorers wake up inside the Norcek facility, a retro-futuristic complex packed with odd technology, uneasy secrets, and lingering questions. In a first-person, two-player co-op adventure, you and your partner take on bold missions to learn what the place really is and why you were brought there. For the first time in the series, the Explorers wear new futuristic outfits and carry asymmetric skill sets.

Clear, constant communication is mandatory for cracking Norcek’s tougher puzzles, because each player only ever has part of the information needed to move forward. The loop is straightforward: trust your partner, lean on their perspective, and work in sync until what is happening beneath the surface starts to make sense. These brain-bending challenges are designed for two people, not one, so you talk through the walkie-talkies and effectively become one another’s eyes, ears, and problem-solving engine to push through. Each Explorer experiences events differently, but the outcome hinges on whether you can function as a unit, while both characters also bring unique abilities that must be combined to clear obstacles and advance. The retro-futuristic site is built for exploration, with uncharted spaces, advanced tech, and darker secrets to uncover, and success comes down to how reliably you and your partner can rely on each other when the pressure spikes.

We Were Here Tomorrow is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC later this year. Can it reach the same level of success as Hazelight Studios’ latest game, Split Fiction?

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
