TECH NEWS – The Redmond tech giant is preparing an innovation with undoubtedly scripts or programs that will prevent Microsoft from trying.
Windows 11 will also have advertisements. That’s for sure, without any conditional mode. In fact, in the settings, Microsoft will start advertising the Xbox Game Pass service, so a good bit of self-promotion will pop up in the operating system. In the developer version (Dev channel, version 26120.470), the new advertisement comes with update KB5037864, which is obviously aimed at getting as many people as possible to subscribe to the service, which is not really expanding as Microsoft expects:
“We’re introducing a new Game Pass recommendation card on the Settings page. The Game Pass Recommendation Card on the Settings page will be displayed to you if you are actively playing games on your PC. As a reminder, the Settings homepage will only be displayed on the Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 and when you’re logged into Windows with your Microsoft account,” Microsoft wrote in the Xbox Game Pass ad. So the average consumer won’t see the ad, but presumably, if you launch anything on your computer that isn’t office software, Microsoft will shove the ad in your face, even though it says it will only show up for “active” gamers, which doesn’t make much sense, since anyone who plays will know about the company’s service, so it’s pointless to try.
It would be fair of Microsoft to allow you to turn off the ads. If not, at least there should be some value in the ads. Perhaps if someone subscribes to Windows 11 through advertising, some sort of discount should be offered to users. That way everyone would benefit.
In vain, Microsoft will have to scrape together the $70 billion it spent to buy Activision Blizzard King. And Game Pass self-promotion is a negligible cost for them.
